With the neverending snowy conditions, I took my revenge today at lunch and managed to do my full double loop of 10k.

I noticed the paths were much cleaner in Ottawa

than they were in Gatineau

After I got started things were flowing pretty easily. I felt light and didn't slip once. I do feel sore in muscles I didn't even know I had. Am I deluding myself that the uneven conditions are helping me develop strength? I never tire of the view of parliament from the bridge

I'm starting to wonder if I remember what it feels like to get traction on clean side walks. I was pretty satisfied with my time of 51m21s with
Mark Allen's Inventive Steps in the mix.
I remember being extra sore last year after an outdoor run, I totally think you're using your stabilizing muscles more when trying to stay upright! :) Way to get out there and get it done!
ReplyDeleteThink about how speedy you're going to be once you DO get traction again. I'm sick of this snow, too. I vow never to complain how hot it is in the summer (hahah). Your pictures ares are really cool. Happy New Year!!
